TVB Flea Shopping Guide

This weekend on Saturday, The Vintage Bazaar pops up in a 22,000 square foot old factory space from 12-6pm. Since you've only got six hours to dig into some of the best vintage in Chicago, we figured we'd offer you a handy post full of tips and suggestions to make shopping TVB easy peasy.

But first! Check out what else we've got cooking...

Our haul photo booth presented by Glitter Guts, which is maybe the first of its kind? Be a cool kid and jump in the booth to show off your vintage prizes. Also, if you're stuck in a styling rut -- interior decorators, Kelly and Olive, will have an advice booth to help you out. All this while CHIRP plays all the best shopping tunes and Goose Island Catering and Bleeding Heart Bakery dish out treats. They'll have scones, cake balls, pub chips, stuffed soft pretzels...to name just a few of the noms. Plus, soft drinks to wash it all down.

Food, folks, and fun times. We're making memories here people! Now on to the tips...

Vintage clothes from BummertownTip 1: Bring cash! The May TVB space does have an ATM and several of our vendors will have the ability to accept debit/credit, but it always helps to bring the real deal to an event of this nature. You might even be able to haggle a deal if you're waving a stack of bills in the air.

Second, check out the vendor list before you come! Click here for the full list. We'll have maps on hand, but perusing the goods before you hit the flea is always a great way to figure out price points, measurements, and even if you should camp out the night before for that one-of-kind find. Don't really camp out though, you guys! But, it is totally ok to come early and line up before the doors open to the public at 12.

3) Prep if you're hunting for furniture: measure your doors and stairwells to make sure your new Danish-mod couch will fit into your super cute apartment. Lock in a same day delivery contact if you don't have a car and/or hook up with a car sharing service like iGo or Zipcar.

Furniture & more from Manly VintageFourth, bring with you: measuring tape, business cards, a wish list, a list of designer names and marks, and a big smile.

No. 5! Wear clothes that allow you to try on the vintage fashions easily -- skirts, layers, and so forth. This time we will have a small dressing room, but it's not like we're at Macy's with tons of mirrored stalls -- just sayin'. And lastly, click here for parking info, transporation suggestions, and stuff like that.

See you guys at 2229 S. Halsted this Saturday. Be there or be square. You can follow us on Twitter @vintagebazaar or like us on Facebook for sneak previews.
