I’ve long been a fan of Emily Henderson’s style — ex. here. And now it’s even easier to bite her style as she is hosting a sale over on One Kings Lane. If I had the means, I’d buy all of the things!
I was browsing the Dethrose Vintage shop and came across this perfect summer-to-fall blouse. I love that Karyn paired the simple top with skinny, cropped black trousers. But that top is begging for a statement necklace and after reading Leilani’s post about lockets and memorial jewelry I just had to add in a Bakelite mourning/sweetheart ring. I finished off the look with some weird-in-a-good-way plastic and cork shoes. Fun! How would you style this look with vintage accessories?

My favorite feature over on The Hairpin is Jane Marie’s makeup tutorial series. Recently, she did star makeovers on two lucky gals, which is just genius and perfect for folks that are inspired by the looks of vintage vixens and movie stars of yore.
One more tutorial and my wish after the jump!
Guys, I would do just about anything to have an attached greenhouse and rooftop garden like Brontë’s in Green Card. Lush plants, a dining nook, and a fountain? Yes please.
(Set designed by John H. Anderson)
Oh and this skylight. Come on!
You can mock a greenhouse/garden style by loading up on plants and mixing in vintage finds. In fact, if you come out to TVB on June 10 you’ll find everything you need.
Spring and summer time means travel time for many people. Be it by plane, train, or automobile you want to be comfortable and layer because you could be facing severe weather changes, layovers, and/or quick tire changes on the side of the road. You never know!
So, get yourself correct by doning some stretchy pants and stashing a Pashmina (big enough to serve as blanket or scarf) in your bag. Also, pick up a flowy dashiki tunic, a fun statement necklace, a big-enough-to-hold-another change-of-clothes satchel, and a pair of shoes that won’t cause you to sprain your ankle if you have to run or something. Do up a top knot and you’re done!
I was browsing Estate Chicago the other day, checking out the new jams in Kim Oliva’s shop when I spied this awesome super wide root beer bangle.
I put together a whole outfit to go with the stunner statement piece. Pairing the orange-y root beer bracelet with a blue jumpsuit really makes it pop. I want every single thing in this outfit collage! I wish my tax return would get here already so I could splurge. Click to check it out!

Do you love an effortless, gamine look? Like you just threw on whatever and ran a comb through your hair, but you look super put together? That is Jane Birkin style. And I say you don’t have to have a stick figure to make it work. It’s all about proportions, accessories, and attitude.
