DIY How-To, Shop Class
Last week it was all about the before and after, where I showed you the four vintage thrift store end tables my dad and I refinished in his garage.
Now you can create your own before and afters using this handy how-to video!
Thank you for this post! I've been thinking about doing this all week, and here is your post. Helpful! Love your blog!
This video is awesome! You (and your dad) made the refinishing process seem very doable. I'm picking up a chair at Jubilee this weekend and was planning to spray paint it as usual but now may try refinishing. I'm inspired! Thanks so much. p.s. Love the new blog. I always read yours and Libby's separately but enjoy this combo blog so much more. Great stuff always.
Lovin' the porny soundtrack! I also have crush on your dad. I remain anxious about refinishing but your video really gives me all of the information I need.
Step by step informative as well as entertaining! Great to see how the piece I bought was fixed up, amazing job you guys and wonderful site, keep up the quality work!
I've wanted to do this for a very long time, but it makes me really nervous to even think about it! I think watching your video has put my mind at ease and makes me want to try my hand at it again.
I did this in high school and loved the class. It's been 30 plus years since then. I'm wanting to get in to this and you helped me tremendously!
Honestly, This video, while very detailed, and easy to follow, convinced me that above anything else to never, ever, never, consider refinishing a piece of vintage furniture, to only buy pieces that can be flipped with little to no actual effort other than smart pics and great salesmanship. I found myself virtually defeated by the end of the video, scratching my head, wondering why, in the name of god, would i ever commit that much time and energy to something unless I got it for free, and only then, would I consider attempting this mind draining, exhaustive exercise if forced to at gunpoint by a pack of wilding teens. From now on, I am only buying sellable items with quick turn potential, and saving the time and money to sip cocktails with a concubine of nubile nymphs. Screw this.
